New fitness routines such as the Zumba, Kettlebells, TRX and Crunch will be highlighted with fitness expert presenters from all over the world. 80 workshops, sessions and workouts are offered, suiting a wide range of interests and needs. You don’t have to be a fitness professional to attend and benefit from the Asia Fitness Convention. It sounds so exciting!

If this convention isn’t really your thing, but you still have an interest in getting or staying fit in Thailand, there is no reason not to! There are many options available, not just the chain fitness clubs, which can get expensive and feel more like nightclubs than a place to work out. They might also be inconveniently located.
So one thing you can do is just look around your neighborhood for small, locally owned gyms. Some of these are really nice! Just around my neighborhood I found a couple fitness centers that are low key and uncrowded (of course I was there in the afternoon). The photos below are from two local gyms in my area. One has a website listed on the poster, and on that site you can check out the facilities. It’s all in Thai, but you can use Google Translate for a rough meaning of it.
